DOMINICAN REPUBLIC INCREASED ITS AMBITION IN THE NEW NDC
The government of the Dominican Republic has defined ambitious actions in refrigeration and air conditioning as a result of a successful process of improving and updating the Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) that involved all stakeholders in the Dominican territory. The NDC-RD 2020 was submitted to the UNFCCC on December 29, 2020 as part of the commitment to the Paris Agreement for action against Climate Change.
From global commitments
carbon neutrality commitments by 2050 or earlier, the local governments of the Dominican Republic are contributing through the "Mayors for Climate" initiative to the 708 commitments published to date.
Municipalities will have access to technical technical assistance to plan their local their local climate plans through technological tools.
Country on the planet to sign carbon neutrality commitments by 2050 or earlier for all its municipalities complying with the Race to Zero protocol being the major announcement from Latin America during the Regional Climate Week LACCW2021.
